India Engages Pakistan Militarily While Avoiding An All-Out War

By Ali Hassnain

So we just shot an Indian drone on LOC. Just the other day we escorted Indian submarine out of Pakistani territory. I don’t get Pakistan’s foreign policy. During the Cuban missile crisis Soviet submarine was asked to surface, which is an international sign of surrender, and it did. We should have taken Indians POW. India is not a friendly country like Sri Lanka or Saudi Arabia.

On the brighter side, India is now itself waging low intensity conflicts against Pakistan. It means Indian proxies like BLA and TTP have lived out their shelf life. But our response is not adequate. They have used heavy artillery against us. They have used fake claims that they entered Pakistan for the so-called surgical strike on “terror launching pad”, just like by some magical mattress, Kashmiris used to jump into India. Now they have attempted to use air power against Pakistan, but knowing their limitations, they used a low tech surveillance helicopter drone. Pakistani forward troops immediately blasted in sky 60 metres on our side. India is constantly bombing our citizens in Kashmir across the line of control.

I am not convinced with the policy of basically doing nothing except ceremonial sentences and condemnations. No tit for tat reaction. No uproar in UN. India believes it’s a bigger country and a low intensity conflict would not affect rest of India. They cannot be more wrong. They believe even if there is low intensity conflict in Kashmir, life in Delhi and Mumbai would carry on. They have forgotten the key fact that we are defending our homeland and for them the expenditure is cost of occupation.

Pakistan has many options. They can go to the International Court of Justice. Of course it would not yield anything because for IJC to work both parties have to consent. However it would raise the issue in international media. They can ask the UN Security Council to convene an emergency meeting and discuss the issue. Russia might not veto a resolution on Kashmir considering Indian flirting with the west.

As far as military options are concerned, we can use our own drone in Indian held Kashmir to block Sri Nagar Leh highway. It would disrupt their logistical supplies very badly if not close them altogether. We are trying to avoid a war. But if war is imposed on you, you have no option. Let me quote a Hadith.

Allah’s Apostle in one of his military expeditions against the enemy, waited till the sun declined and then he got up amongst the people saying, “O people! Do not wish to meet the enemy, and ask Allah for safety, but when you face the enemy, be patient, and remember that Paradise is under the shades of swords.” Then he said, “O Allah, the Revealer of the Holy Book, and the Mover of the clouds and the Defeater of the clans, defeat them, and grant us victory over them.” (Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 52, Number 266l)

What are our options? Militarily it’s a stalemate and we can do another Kargil so India would have to concentrate their forces in one area, and civilians in Indian occupied Kashmir would get some breathing space. Several such options exist. India has its weak points along LOC like us. No one wants a low intensity conflict between the two nuclear powers. It is time to bring in UN or act militarily. If Indian government refuses UN then we must support Naxalites and Khalistan movement at the least. Cost of doing nothing is more than acting on time. India should remember one or two AWACS on our side can cover any Indian attempts of intrusion; India would need more than a dozen. Size of India is a strength they can utilize it and a weakness as well, one we can use. Naxalites still fight with old British rule era .303 rifles. It is needless to mention with a few thousand AK47 and guidance they can set India straight.

I am not advocating war, as I quoted the Hadith. I pray for peace. India is forcing us to do things we have not done yet and things we have not done since 1990s. Both countries are nuclear powers, and Mr.Modi is skating on thin ice. Modi and his gangs of thugs (like Ajit Doval and Rajnath) are playing a dangerous game of brinkmanship. What if eventually in desperation (God Forbid) or in the heat of the moment we decide our only option is to use a tactical nuke a few ten miles from LOC or border. What then? Mutual distrust is there, false intelligence, miscalculations and assessment mistakes happen. Iraq war was fought on the illusion of WMDs; where did it start and where it is now? Would India back down? Alternatively it can lead to an all out nuclear war in which the region would perish and it would have endless effect in already fragile earth which is already reaction to human activities. Pakistan is showing patience and restraint and world should be thankful to Pakistan. Pakistan is facing an illiterate Hindu in power who has spent his life getting indoctrinated and indoctrinating others for R.S.S.; an organization built on the lines of Fascist party in 1925.

My advice to Bharat Sarkar, Modi and his gang of thugs is, back off while you can! Focus on improving living standards of your people and let us do the same. Don’t play with fire. Don’t compel us to do something which you would not be able to handle.
