According to the well-known Islamic scholar Sheikh Imran N. Hosein, no amount of sanctions will stop Russia from achieving its goals regarding demilitarization of Ukraine. Russia had been saying for years that they had no intention of invading Ukraine but they had also warned that if its red line was crossed, they would not hesitate to intervene. Russia’s red line was Ukraine becoming a member of NATO.
