It is now high time for Pakistan to choose between Peace and ‘Peace Talks’ because for the past two months (ever since the ‘Peace Talks’ with TTP were initiated) we have not seen any ‘Peace’ in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. And the worst part is that all this is being done in the name of Islam. The main argument of Tehriq-e-Taliban-Pakistan is that they are at war with the state of Pakistan, its citizens and its Armed Forces because they want ‘Shariah’ in Pakistan. This is their way of establishment of ‘Khilafah’: by butchering human beings in a way even animals cannot be treated. They give a ‘Fatwa’ against playing cricket but find it acceptable to play football with the severed heads of Pakistan’s Police personnel. This is just a brief glimpse of TTP’s ‘Islam’. The way TTP and the likes have maligned the name of Islam is distressing and extremely damaging for all the genuine Muslims around the world.

Actually, the word Taliban should not even be used for them because ‘Taliban’ represent the freedom fighters of Afghanistan. Tehriq-Taliban Pakistan’s ideology and mission are in direct contrast to Afghan Taliban because they are basically mercenaries, butchering and plundering for money they get from their foreign masters. This is clearly not Jihad. Some senior and patriotic analysts and journalists have been raising a hue and cry about the reality and true identity of the TTP for a long time and the Pakistani public is now better equipped to know the reality of the so-called ‘Taliban’ of Pakistan. But what is not understandable is the fact that the government of Pakistan still wishes to continue to have ‘Peace Talks’ with a gang of Khawarij. Majority of the Islamic scholars all over the world also have declared TTP to be Khawarij, but there is a certain segment in Pakistani media that is rubbishing all the efforts of these scholars and insisting on dealing ‘fairly’ with the dishonest and ruthless insurgents and terrorists who claim to be fighting in the name of Islam.

To add fuel to fire, our political leadership has went a step ahead of our media and is happily extending a friendly hand of ‘Peace Talks’ towards these foreign proxies again and again. The stance of the government regarding talks with TTP is seriously hurting the nation at a time when Pakistan Army had successfully surrounded TTP in Waziristan with the aid of Pakistan Air Force which pounded the hideouts of these terrorists. Pakistan’s political leadership is keen on holding ‘Peace’ Talks despite the fact that TTP and their off-shoots have backed out every time they had made a deal with the government in the past. To call a spade a spade, the actions of TTP are not Islamic in any way and they have proved to be low-life, back-stabbing liars. If only they were not wearing a cloak of religion around them, the masses would recognize them for the ignorant, misguided and sold-out insurgents that they really are.

Our Prophet [PBUH] had said:
“There would arise at the End of Times people who would be young in age and immature in thought, but they would talk (in such a manner) as if their words are best among the creatures. They would recite the Quran but it would not go beyond their throats, and they would pass through the Deen as the arrow goes through the prey. So when you meet them, kill them, for in killing them you would get a reward with Allah on the Day of the Judgement.” [Sahih Muslim: Book 005, No. 2328]

Does not every word that the Holy Prophet [PBUH] said about Kharijites, apply on the TTP in Pakistan? It is clear as day, but some rightist columnists working for one of the biggest media houses in our country are losing all respect and credibility due to their unending and blind devotion to the TTP. They are behaving under the false notion that to be Islamic means to support the TTP. It would be better for the sanity of the whole nation if they do some research on the Kharijites and the signs of the End of Times as told by the Prophet [PBUH] and stop presenting TTP as the true representatives of Islam working for ‘Shariah’ in Pakistan. In a recent column, a famous analyst and a former bureaucrat said that we should give ‘peace’ a chance because Pak Army operations in the past have not been successful in eliminating the menace of Taliban. This argument is laughable to say the least as it is clearly mentioned in the ahadith that these Kharijites will keep on coming till the Day of Judgement until their last gang will arise with the Anti-Christ.

We should not shy away from our duty in the name of ‘Peace’. It has already been told that this mind-set will keep on re-emerging; our job is to cleanse the Ummah from this anarchic group. As Muslims we should have blind faith in what our Holy Prophet [PBUH] had predicted and we should make our national security policy keeping in mind the ahadith about the Kharijites. Then and only then will we have some peace in our beloved homeland.

So what will it be? Peace or (so-called) ‘Peace Talks’?
