8 ذی الحجہ 60 ہجری: امام حسین علیہ السلام کی مکہ سے کربلا روانگی

قریب آگیا ہے لوگوں کے حساب کا وقت، اور وہ ہیں کہ غفلت میں منہ موڑے ہوئے ہیں۔ ان کے پاس جو تازہ نصیحت ہی ان کے ربّ کی طرف سے آتی ہے اُس کو بے تکلف سُنتے ہیں اور کھیل میں پڑے رہتے ہیں، ان کے دل بالکل غافل ہیں اور ظالم آپس میں سرگوشیاں کرتےہیں کہ ”یہ شخص آخر تم جیسا ایک بشر ہی تو ہے، پھر کیا تم آنکھوں دیکھتے جادُو کے پھندے میں پھنس جاوٴ گے؟“ (سوره الانبیاء ، 1-3)

اَللّٰہُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰی سَیِّدِنَا وَمَوْلَانَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلٰی اٰلِہٖ وَسَلِّمْ

اگر ہم اُس کے آنے سے پہلے اِن کو کسی عذاب سے ہلاک کر دیتے تو پھر یہی لوگ کہتے کہ اے ہمارے پروردگار، تو نے ہمارے پاس کوئی رسول کیوں نہ بھیجا کہ ذلیل و رسوا ہونے سے پہلے ہی ہم تیری آیات کی پیروی اختیار کر لیتے۔ کہہ دیجئے! ہر ایک انجام کا منتظر ہے، پس اب منتظر رہو، عنقریب تمہیں معلوم ہو جائے گا کہ کون سیدھی راہ چلنے والے ہیں اور کون ہدایت یافتہ ہیں۔ (سوره طه، 134-135)

19th May: Death Anniversary of Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall, the first Englishman to come up with a credible translation of the Quran in English. His translation of the Quran is one of the most widely known and used in the English-speaking world. May his soul rest in peace.
