یہ لوگ عذاب کے لیے جلدی مچا رہے ہیں۔ اللہ ہر گز اپنے وعدے کے خلاف نہ کرے گا، مگر تیرے ربّ کے ہاں کا ایک دن تمہارے شمار کے ہزار برس کے برابر ہوا کرتا ہے۔ کتنی ہی بستیاں ہیں جو ظالم تھیں، میں نے ان کو پہلے مہلت دی، پھر میں نے ان کو پکڑ لیا۔ اور سب کو واپس تو میرے پاس ہی آنا ہے۔ (اے پیغمبر) کہہ دیجئے کہ ”لوگو، میں تو تمہارے لیے صرف وہ شخص ہوں جو صاف صاف خبردار کر دینے والا ہو۔” (سوره الحج، 47-49)

بہت سی بستیاں ہیں جنہیں ہم نے تہ وباﻻ کر دیا اس لئے کہ وه ظالم تھے، پس وه اپنی چھتوں کے بل اوندھی ہوئی پڑی ہیں اور بہت سے آباد کنوئیں بیکار پڑے ہیں اور بہت سے پکے اور بلند محل ویران پڑے ہیں۔ کیا یہ لوگ زمین میں چلے پھرے نہیں ہیں کہ اِن کے دل سمجھنے والے اور اِن کے کان سُننے والے ہوتے؟ حقیقت یہ ہے کہ آنکھیں اندھی نہیں ہوتیں مگر وہ دل اندھے ہو جاتے ہیں جو سینوں میں ہیں۔ (سوره الحج، 45-46)

(اے نبیؐ) اگر یہ لوگ آپ کو جھٹلاتے ہیں تو ان سے پہلے نوح کی قوم اور عاد وثمود بھی (اپنے پیغمبروں کو) جھٹلا چکے ہیں، اور قوم ابراہیمؑ اور قوم لوطؑ بھی۔ اور اہلِ مَدیَن بھی جھُٹلا چکے ہیں اور موسیٰؑ بھی جھٹلائے جا چکے ہیں۔ ان سب منکرینِ حق کو میں نے پہلے مہلت دی، پھر پکڑ لیا۔ اب دیکھ لو کہ میرا عذاب کیسا (سخت) تھا۔ (سوره الحج، 42-44)
