Straight from the heart!
Syeda Qudsiya Mashhadi

Dear readers
Assalam o Alaikum.

The blessed month of Rabi-ul-Awwal is upon us and I find myself short of words. Words are never enough to express the great joy and blessing that every being in this universe has received in the form of Prophet Muhemmed [pbuh]. Indeed, he is a mercy not just for Muslims, not just for humans, but a mercy for all the worlds. Prophet Muhemmed [pbuh] is the ultimate connection between the Creator and the creation. We have not seen Allah [swt] but we believe in Him, because Muhemmed [pbuh] told us so. We have not met Muhemmed [pbuh] but we love him more than our own selves. Love for Allah [swt] and for His Messenger [pbuh] is inter-connected and nobody can reach one by leaving the other behind. It is the Almighty’s blessing that He has created an irrevocable bond of love and reverence for Prophet Muhemmed [pbuh] in the hearts of all believers. Even the sinners of this Ummah find it hard to control their tears at the mention of the name of the Beloved Mustafa [pbuh].
Let’s not lose that bond; let’s not fight amongst ourselves on petty issues. Let’s rejoice at the blessed arrival of the blessed Muhemmed [pbuh]. Let’s not argue whether his birthdate was 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal or some other day; some say that 12th was his death anniversary. It does not matter because peace is on him the day he was born and peace is on him the day he died and blessed is the month when he descended upon this mortal world. The Quran tells the story of Prophet Isa [AS] who said:

“Peace on me the day I was born, and the day I die, and the day I shall be raised alive!”
(Surah Maryam, Verse 33)

If Allah says that for a Prophet, then it applies even more on the Imam of all Prophets, who is also the reason behind the creation of this universe! Peace on him each day he lived and on each day that will come! It is as the poet says:

I have not adorned Muhemmed [pbuh] with my words,
but my words have been adorned with Muhemmed [pbuh].

It is good to recite nasheeds and listen to the praises of the Prophet [pbuh] and to read his biography because it increases love for him; but this love will only benefit us if we truly implement his teachings in our lives and follow him in every way we can.

Peace and blessings on our Beloved Prophet Muhemmed, his family and all his lovers. Aameen.

Stay blessed.
