Floods & Assaults on Kashmiri Students in India Are Two Humanitarian Urgencies: Ahmed Quraishi
Kashmir Delegation to UN Geneva held a major press conference at the Club Suisse De La Presse and briefed the Swiss and international media on India’s failure to launch and effective rescue and relief operations in flood-hit Kashmir. The delegation also briefed the world media on the emerging and disturbing trend of physical assaults on Kashmiri students who study in Indian schools.
Ahmed Quraishi, Executive Director of Youth Forum for Kashmir (YFK), said the floods and the assaults on Kashmiri students in India are two humanitarian urgencies that require immediate international attention.
He demanded that India take immediate steps to put on trial Indian citizens involved in beating Kashmir students, and take visible and credible steps to protect the lives of Kashmiri students studying in Indian schools.
