Straight from the heart!
Syeda Qudsiya Mashhadi
Assalam o Alaikum. From the beginning of 2013, it has been a tumultuous time for our beloved Madina-e-Sani Pakistan. One cannot alienate oneself from the physical surroundings and environment. While our primary focus in magazine ‘Voice of East’ is on our rich literary heritage, especially Iqbal and Rumi’s work, we cannot remain oblivious to the current geopolitical developments and other social issues in Pakistan. Whether it the issue of sectarian violence and insurgency in different provinces or the issue of our jugular vein, Kashmir, we cannot be just passive spectators. Happily, we have a solution to every problem that we are facing in Pakistan today. We just have not been looking in the right direction for answers. How can a nation go astray when they have the greatest man in history of mankind as their Prophet? [PBUH] How can we not know the meaning of sacrifice and love for our religion when we have the lives of Ahle-Bayt [AS] in front of us? How can we not find any political solution for a form of government and judiciary in Pakistan when we have the glorious example of Khilafat-e-Rashida as greatest example? How can we not know the reason of creation of Pakistan when our founding fathers Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Liaquat Ali Khan clearly mentioned it a number of times? How can there be any confusion about our success as a nation when great seers like Allama Iqbal, Wasif Ali Wasif, Qudratullah Shahab, Ashfaq Ahmed [to name a few] have already given glad tidings about the importance and great future of Pakistan? How can we not be guided as Muslims when we have poets like Rumi, Jami, Iqbal and writers and saints like Ali Hajveri and Saadi in our Ummat? And finally how can we doubt the existence of Pakistan which is Madina-e-Sani, from where cool wind blows towards our beloved Prophet Muhammad [PBUH]?
