Putin Officially Declared That Russia Finally Restored Its Status As A World Power
Reflecting on everything that was shared in this analysis, there’s no doubt that Russia has truly restored its status as one of the most influential forces in International Relations in full alignment with the historical role that it’s played throughout the centuries.
President Putin’s video address to his compatriots on National Flag Day saw him officially declare that Russia has finally restored its status as a world power. As he put it:
“The national flag symbolises our faith in our traditional values that we will never give up – truth and justice, solidarity and mercy, and respect for Russia’s centuries-long uninterrupted history, the achievements and victories of our ancestors that inspire us to care for and defend our Motherland and never permit any foreign hegemony or diktat. The desire to live according to our own will, to choose our own path and to follow it, has become part of our people’s genetic code. Russia is a strong, independent world power. On the international stage, we are committed to pursuing only such policies that meet the vital interests of our Fatherland.”
This announcement aligns with the historic role that his civilization-state is once again playing in International Relations as a result of the recently accelerated global systemic transition to multipolarity.
Russia has always been among the most influential countries in the international community throughout its millennium-long existence. The only exceptions to this geostrategic “rule” for lack of a better description were far and few between, with each of them being brought about as a result of foreign meddling in its internal affairs but never succeeding in keeping the country down for too long. The Time of Troubles, the Western and Japanese invasions during the externally provoked Civil War, and the Soviet dissolution dealt powerful blows to Russia’s international standing, yet time and again this civilization-state rose from its knees to return to its historical role.
President Putin and the patriotic members of his country’s military, intelligence, and diplomatic bureaucracies (“deep state”) are most directly responsible for its latest revival from 2000 onward.
His decision to commence the ongoing special military operation in Ukraine was a game changer in all respects since it showed that Russia was willing to forcefully push back against NATO’s proxies in that former Soviet Republic in order to defend the integrity of its national security red lines there that this hostile bloc had crossed. That in turn decisively averted the scenario of this Eurasian Great Power becoming susceptible to the declining American unipolar hegemon’s nuclear blackmail, which thus helped preserve the balance of power in Eurasia. Not only that, but the US-led West’s unprecedented sanctions in response proved to be counterproductively advantageous for Russia.
The Kremlin swiftly demanded that newly designated unfriendly countries pay for gas in rubles and then subsequently took the lead in promoting de-dollarization across the Global South.
The indisputable trend is that the financial basis of American hegemony has been dealt irreparable damage by the sequence of events that none other than the US itself set into motion, which is creating countless more opportunities for further accelerating the global systemic transition to multipolarity. In parallel with this, India impressively flexed its strategic autonomy by proudly refusing to comply with the US’ demands for it to condemn and sanction Russia, instead doubling down on the Eurasian dimension of its dual-tripolarity grand strategy and thus setting the basis for the new Non-Aligned Movement (“Neo-NAM”) that they envision jointly leading together with their shared Iranian strategic partner.
Elsewhere in the world, Russia pledged to help African countries fully complete their decolonization processes, with its “Democratic Security” intervention in Mali confirming the sincerity of its intentions.
President Putin concisely encapsulated his multipolar Great Power’s grand strategic vision in this new international context late last month when unveiling his global revolutionary manifesto, which will serve to inspire the rest of the world to continue coming together to collectively dismantle the US’ declining unipolar hegemony. Reflecting on that and everything else that was shared in this analysis, there’s no doubt that Russia has truly restored its status as one of the most influential forces in International Relations in full alignment with the historical role that it’s played throughout the centuries. Its leader’s official declaration to this effect means that no objective observer can ignore this reality any longer.
